Thank you for the memories. What with the wildfires, the smoke making the air dangerous to btreathe, and the intense heats of late, we have no butterflies in our area anymore. Not even cabbage butterflies.

The flowers are very pretty but I have way too much shade in my yard. We grow a native plant called a cup plant that looks like a black-eyed Susan on a six foot stalk and the bees and butterflies really like them. I could still go for a little more color.

Very similar to milkweed, which is also another butterfly plant. I’ll have to look for these!

We used to have a lot of milkweed in our field but it’s all died off..

I had to replant milkweed for several years but seem to have a happy variety now.
My butterflies and hummingbirds are FAR more attracted to the russian/mexican sage and galse honey suckle, both of which are thriving despite barely being watered.

Oh, lovely. Multiple milkweeds in my butterfly garden died this year and I don’t have nearly the number of butterflies I used to. Nice to see yours!

We have several flowers on the patio that attract butterflies. The hummingbirds like them too.

Butterflies are the reason I can never make a blanket “I hate insects!” statement. Along with dragonflies and fireflies.

The only insect I truly hate is the cricket. Noisy little sleep interrupting bastards!
