Our Coopers Hawk returned yesterday and hung out for almost an hour, which is quite unusual.
.

.
His Lordship was fascinated and kept a close eye on the visitor this time.
.

.
I’m not sure what held this beautiful guy’s attention for so long… but I’m not complaining.
.

.
I enjoyed watching him almost as much as Dudley.

The bird has that, “Did I just see a mouse” look…

Someone in my neighborhood had a bald eagle in their backyard recently – they have a nest nearby in the National Arboretum – I expect I will be seeing a lot more wildlife when I move – maybe I won’t sell the big camera…

We have baldies fly over every day! But never had one land in the yard…

I just thought I’d tell you, Ted our campus Coopers Hawk is related to Hunter (that’s your visitor’s name.) I gave Ted some…um, incentive to give Hunter to look for that red menace and extinguish. Ted will report back to me next week…..😜

Riding home from the library the other day, I saw a red tail hawk standing next to the sidewalk. I thought it was a statue for a second. I’d never seen a hawk standing on the ground.

I always wonder what our pets and the wild animals are thinking when they see each other. Silent taunting? Silent chatting? Thinking the other guy has it better?

On Dudley’s part I think it was… please don’t eat me.
