In with the new…

.

Our new blue couch was proving just as difficult to move into the house as our old behemoth sleeper sofa was to move out.

.

.

Up and over was the only way to turn the corner.

.

.

We bought from a family run business and the two sons were the delivery men.

.

.

Though I should say boys, they’re not even old enough to drink the tip money we gave them.

.

.

New (blue) furniture.

.

.

I’m usually a neutral girl so this flies against my norm.

.

.

But it adds a nice pop of color and we’re pleased.

  1. I have a tall hardwood armoire that some mover, I’m guessing a Tetras champion, managed to squeeze upstairs through the narrow stairwell and into my bedroom. My first thought was, “Oh good! They managed to get it upstairs” A moment later I was thinking, “No one will ever be able to get this downstairs. I’ll have to sell my house with that in it”…

  2. Thankfully our house is one floor, aside from the basement of doom. I used to miss going up to bed, but the older I get the more I appreciate the convenience. And yes, you’ll have deed that armoire to the next owner.

  3. When it comes to color I prefer an explosion to a pop, but that’s just in my own home and I don’t compare anyone else’s style against my own. I could be really happy sitting in that room, engaging in one of my favorite pastimes: Sitting comfortably, petting the cat and looking out the window.
I’m glad for you that your effort and patience have finally borne fruit.
I doubt there is any such thing as a piece of upholstered furniture that you will never tire of. You’re blowing my mind with your forty year old, sixteen ton sleeper sofa. Was it really that good?

    1. It wasn’t. But it’s always lived in our dens which tend to be forgotten rooms no one sees but us. I read in there … but it always seems like some other repair/replacement took precedence.
Am I glad to be rid of it?
      You betcha!

  4. So, with all the new stuff you have added to your house and lot, all the new furniture, etc etc etc, that leaves only two old things you haven’t gotten rid of. In fact, one of them is utterly ancient.Out with the old! Bring in the new! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. When I saw the picture of the boys moving the new couch in, I couldn’t help wanting to dart over and make sure they were being safe.🤦🏻‍♀️ I bet you’ll still love the blue years to come. Looks like a classic.
