Aw!!
It was great for seeing all the stuff in songs (deer & antelope playing; amber waves of grain, purple mountains’ majesty) but leaving at 4am, often stuck in the car for 12hrs at a time, and living in an 18′ trailer with parents and a sister completely SUUUUCKED!!

It’s such an American tradition, but I was an only child of older parents and while we did a lot… Jersey shore every summer, NYC day trips to the zoo, circus, museums and shows.. we never took an actual road vacation. And I’ve only been out west once. Need to remedy that!
