.
I received an email from Goodreads yesterday…. the app where I log and keep track of what I’m reading.
I participate in their annual challenge where you set a goal for yourself in January and hopefully reach it by December 31rst. I’ve been doing it for two years and have overshot my target number with room to spare both times.
So why did they send me this…

When my challenge is already showing this…

Short books?
As you can see, that’s not necessary.
😉

Congrats!
Although I enjoy reading, this year I’ve read exactly zero books. I listened to 2 on cd, but that’s not the same.

I adore reading. Can’t imagine my life without books…

That’s one of the problems with goals – “here, read some short books. I have nothing to recommend about them except that they’re short so you can reach your goal of reading x number of books.”

I prefer big juicy fat ones.

Maybe five over isn’t crushing it ??? Still, that’s an amazing number of books in one year. That’s more than a lot of people read in a lifetime.

Only five over… so far.
I still have two months to go.

Welp, I suppose you could just accept that they know you exist and take that as a win. I gave up on Goodreads, they kind of bugged me.

More than anything I like it to keep a list of what I’ve read. I’m always bringing books home for repeats .

I haven’t met my goal yet. I may have gone a bit to high.

I got the same Goodreads message…but in my case, I probably could use the help. I’m one behind my target to date.

It’s all about marketing. You’re more likely to buy those from Amazon if you’ve seen the title n cover…
