  1. Since reading “Remarkably Bright Creatures” (and if you haven’t read it, please treat yourself, it’s a wonderful book) I have become fascinated with octopuses – they are indeed remarkably bright creatures!

  2. I’ve never cooked a pizza on a volcano, but I did bake a coffee cake in a natural reflector oven between rock slabs in the mountains. Does that count?

    Since filet mignon is a slice of the psoas muscle, which naturally has that shape, it sounds like the glued meat is fraud – different (cheaper) cuts entirely, as there is little or nothing left over when a psoas is cut into filets. (I used to work in a restaurant that cut its own filets from whole tenderloins (the meat name for the psoas muscle).)
