Our nightly deer herd showed up a little early the other day and I was able to snap some pictures.

I dislike the lack of white stuff this year, but the herd happily munches the still green patches.

We started with three in the fall…

But now have 7-9 visitors.

i snapped some pics the day of the big snow. the deer were plentiful and beautiful as they gamboled across the yards. your crew look like they love visiting your homestead

They come for apples and blueberries in season and raid our bird feeders when there’s no fruit. In winter we lay out sweet grain. It’s a year long buffet.

My mom gets annoyed when deer eat her plants, but it looks like you have them well-fed enough (and maybe far enough away from your house and plants) that they are content leaving them alone.

Oddly enough we’ve never had issues with them eating our plants. They love the fallen apples and blueberries, but have only nibbled shrubbery once in 20 years during an extremely harsh winter.

It’s pretty disheartening when Oklahoma and Texas have more snow than Wisconsin. One thing we aren’t lacking is the cold!

It is so weird to see the Northeast without snow in January. Though it’s sadly a lot more common than it used to be.
