.
Lord Dudley Mountcatten loves his blanket during the winter months.
.

.
And woe to the human who thinks about removing it from the couch.
.

.
His Lordship has my husband well trained.
.

.
He knocks his favorite mouse off the ottoman…
.

.
And my husband catches it.
.

.
Again.
And again.
And again….
.

.
His Lordship is an odd fellow and has been known to sit and stare at nothing at all.
.

.
Yesterday morning it was the sun.
.

.
Lord Dudley loves his mouse.
.

.
And often goes full on penguin, tucking it under his belly.
Is he trying to hatch it?
Time will tell.
.
As for the staring, who needs psychedelics when you can be fascinated by the reflection from the glass naturally? An aside to Midwest Mark: click on my name for a special photographic message.

Sit and stare at nothing at all…or at least nothing you can see.

I’m currently in bed with PCB sleeping on my back because her comfort is more important than mine!

He’s so adorable!! I esp love the 3nd piv!!
I love when cats train us to play!
I read a theory about cats staring at nothing cause they see more colors than us, but I prefer the theory that they’re watching ghosts.

Ghosts?
Human… or feline.

Cat’s who seemingly stare at nothing could most likely hear some critter keeping warm between the walls of your home. I love dudley.

I loved your photos of your beautiful cat. But they made me miss Olive, who I lost at the end of November.

We said that with our last one… and now, there’s Lord Dudley Mountcatten.
I just can’t be catless.

I have had cats and big dogs my entire life, from early childhood until November 2024. We were crushed when we lost our yellow lab Angus and pledged to never get another dog. We still had Olive. Right now, I’ve don’t want anymore pets. The heartbreak is too fierce.

Yes. I need to be able to walk down the aisle in the grocery store for pet food without crying or feeling sad.

Such cute closeups! I’m glad to hear he’s a bit of a weirdo, staring at nothing like David Puddy and all that. It makes me feel better about Mango, who can be a bit of a weirdo herself. If you’re laying on the couch she’ll come up and face you, sit her butt on the floor, and just stare at you. It seems she’s deciding whether she wants to jump up for a rub or not. But seriously, she stares at you for a good minute, sometimes more, before deciding. Would love to know what’s going on in her head.

Dud does that with my husband. Jumps up on the arm of the chair and stares. It’s a bit unnerving…

She may be waiting for an invitation. Laverne does this, and as soon as we tell her to come on up, she does.

Actually, no. We spend the entire time trying to entice her to jump up, but she’s remarkably adept at ignoring us and heeding just her own inner kitty. 🐱

OK, she’s just weird then.

100%. She also thinks tinfoil has the most amazing mouthfeel, and delights in licking her litter box top.

The Husband and I just spent 10 minutes on our hands and knees playing “air hockey” on the floor with Cheddar in the middle and crumpled up champagne 🍾 tinfoil as our hockey puck. Such a delight, cats. 🐱💕
