We’re getting closer to a decision.

I liked this bed, my husband didn’t.

He liked this bed, but I didn’t.

Neither of us liked this bed, but Lord Dudley Mountcatten would have loved to scratch and shred it.

.

.

Basically the decision we made is to just buy a mattress and keep our old bedroom furniture for now.

.

.

And to be honest, that will probably cost more than our entire room of solid mahogany furniture we bought (many, many) years ago.

So as much as my menopausal night sweats cried out for this icy cold pillow?

I couldn’t justify the $300 price tag.

$300.

For a pillow.

😳

  1. As long as you can agree on a mattress. That’s the important part. 30+ years ago, I went to a mattress-buying workshop. Advice #1 was: lie on it in the position(s) you sleep in, not like a mummy. Stay there for a while. #2: don’t look at price tags or other info until AFTER you lie on them. #3 (I don’t know if this was from them or I came up with it on my own): We counted to 3 and then each pointed at the one we liked best so we wouldn’t influence each other. We pointed at the same one. We then looked at the price and said, “Sure. Why not?” It lasted for 25+ years.

  2. I’m absolutely shocked you guys couldn’t come to an agreement on furniture. WHAT? 🤣

The mattress is always the most important thing. Right? And yes, they’re so expensive!

      1. I found a great mattress online… for a mete $14,000!! After a lot of online shopping, I got mine at Bob’s, due to the 20-year non-prorated warranty! Since I don’t plan to.live 20 years, a neighbor pointed out that I should include it in my will/trust!

  3. I can see a definite difference in tastes in your choices of bed frames. We still have the one we bought decades ago in Palm Springs and moved it to Arizona. Since then, we’ve had new mattresses, though.

      1. 😅 Fortunately, our new home in Arizona fit our style of furniture from our 1930s Mexican Colonial in Palm Springs. Only problem was the spaces in each room were bigger in PS than here — even though the house in AZ is bigger, so we had to buy some furniture. But we went with the same style.
