.
After our lovely lunch in Galilee we took the advice of some locals and headed off on a scenic drive to Watch Hill.
.

.
A popular beach destination in the summer, the carousel.. and pretty much everything else.. was shut up tight off season.
.

.
But the beautiful waterfront homes were still there.
.

.
With impressive stone walls…
.

.
And neatly trimmed hedges.
I include this photo because the perfect shrubs weren’t just in front of one home, it was an entire neighborhood of likeminded shrubbery.
.

.
Which was hella impressive and must be beautiful when fully leafed out.
.

.
Along the way we drove past this.
.

.
An impressive looking place of which I had no previous knowledge.
.

.
“…one of only fourteen Five-Star resorts in the world to hold this honor.”
.

.
Impressive indeed.
.

.
Reading that, you know I had to check out the accommodations.
.

.
Oh my.
.

.
Holy hell.
I somehow doubt any bed in Rhode Island is worth that.
.

.
At the end of our drive we were astonished to find this house.
.

.
Where being waterfront meant on the actual water.
.

.
How crazy is that?
.
Geez, I feel kinda silly now complaining about our $210 hotel room in Duluth…

I mean the place was nice.
But not that nice…

Yeah, but you got DuLUTH, not some snobby place in Rhode Island!

Haha! Actually, I got SHEBOYGAN. I cancelled because Duluth was too expensive!

I don’t think I’d want to pay $6500 a night….A NIGHT mind you, on a hotel suite. Five start or not, I would much rather stay somewhere affordable and spend the rest of the money on sight seeing, restaurant and cocktail hopping. Okay I love the east coasts view and shorelines but, I draw the line at living ON the actual water with hurricanes, high winds and drunken boat captains that’s a risk I’m not willing to take. Oh, and lets not forget Jaws, yeah Jaws is on the east coast lurking in Amityville, somewhere. He can make his way to that very house and then BOOM, he’s out from under the floor boards, no thank you! lol

We don’t get hurricanes up here, but a N’Or Easter could shake, rattle and roll that house. As for sharks, that’s a backyard visitor even I wouldn’t feed!

All those stars and diamonds make it clear that your photos are the closest I’ll get to that place. The suites are bigger than my house. As for the house on the water – where does the sewage go?

Driving by the exterior is the closest I’ll get ax well.
As for the sewage… eww. I never thought of that.

Wow. Really pretty homes (and hedges). I’m so glad you looked into room prices for that place and saved us curious folks the trouble. And, my gosh, who stays there?! Movie stars? Foreign princes?

At the very least, you should find out what type of mattresses that Forbes Five-Star place uses. They’ve GOT to be amazing for that price.
