Marshall Point lighthouse… Port Clyde, Maine.

Did you guess which famous movie used this landmark as a backdrop?

Yes, it was the eastern most spot Forrest Gump encountered on his run across the country and where he turned around.

The little museum made sure to memorialize its moment in the sun.

This really is a gorgeous location.

With the quintessential rocky Maine shore.

The light itself is tiny and there was a line of people waiting to climb in so we just strolled around outside and enjoyed the views.

So pretty! I’m amazed there are still monarchs–I thought they had all migrated further south.

Those views are so serene, that picture you got of the sailboat, that would be an awesome painting. I mean if I could paint that is, lol. What was the weather like?

It’s been beautiful here. High 60’s low 70’s, no humidity. Perfect!

Love this. I have a thing for lighthouses though.

The lighthouse, the rocky beach area, the flowers, the monarchs; all of it truly lovely.
I still think Forest Gump is one of the best movies of our era.
