.
We’ve been having some crazy weather lately.
.

.
As you can see from the storm clouds rolling in around our property.
.

.
High winds and rain.
.

.
At times it was downright spooky.
.

.
The next morning?
.

.
Fog.
.

.
Which is always hard to photograph.
,

.
It doesn’t matter what the weather is over in your neck of the woods (literally), it’s always a beautiful slice of heaven at Casa River 😉

I’m still not over the giant blight of greenhouses across the road, but thank you.

I don’t know what the plan is for the place across the street from me, now that all the goodwill trailers and disaster relief equipment are gone.
We watched a couple guys apply black coating on the parking lot (+/- 2 acres) by hand; first time in the 28 years we have lived here that we have seen that parking lot get any attention at all.
I kinda hope it doesn’t change much, just for the history we witness: Parents teaching their kids to ride a bike, then, a few years later, teaching them to drive a car or a stick or ride a motorcycle. Making the best of it, you know? Your pics are great, as always.

If someone went to the trouble to resurface it, I’d say you’re apt to have new neighbors soon.

I’ve heard rumors of a small scale outdoor music venue with food trucks and such. I don’t know if the town of Weaverville will hold still for it, but I don’t know that they can do anything about it either, since the property is just outside the town limits. Upside: Since we’re both retired now, we can go to a show anytime we want and, if it’s across the street. holding Cathy’s hand will be as close to designated driving as I may ever get again. All this, of course, if the rumors are true. Just no drift track, if you don’t mind. You will know the future as soon as I do.

How great would that be?
My fingers are crossed for next door music.

Looks like a Stephen King novel, eerie at times. I remember this eeriness from my parents little shotgun shack on the Gulf in a cozy little place called Bon Secour. Downright eerie as could be the congregation nearby. Beautiful though.

It was definitely eerie, especially when the wind started whipping up.

Oh, I bet. I could definitely tell some stories about my time in Bon Secour. Very interesting neighbors, also and a great view!!

Reminds me of a poem by Philip Larkin.
My mother
Who hated thunderstorms
Held up each summer day and shook it out suspiciously
Lest swarms of grape-dark clouds were lurking there…

I love me some wind and fog. Wind for the sheer force and sense of aliveness. And fog for the perfect stillness.

We’ve got a week of rain on tap. It’s been at least a decade sine we got a solid week of rain in SoCal. Angelenos freaking out.

I don’t blame them. That much rain probably equals mudslides.

We were in drought conditions most of the summer. Wreaked havoc on my gardens but we’re getting some now.

Looks like a little frost on the ground as well – we’re cloudy expecting rain.

I have simplified my weather Expectations: (1) Is it cold, (2) Is it wet, (3) Is it windy, and finally (4) has my house been relocated. Trying to reclassify as “weird” just makes it too subjective. 🙂

Ha!
Here’s hoping you never experience #4.

I wouldn’t mind a little fog around these parts. It has been a while. We had those kind of skies this weekend…like the end of the world when these super hot, super cold fronts come rolling through.

Exactly why it’s nearly impossible to photograph a ghost!

Don’t you love watching a good storm roll in?
I’m laughing at Mark’s Ghost comment. 👻
