.
I love the blues and whites of a winter morning.
.

.
Or at least I did, until yesterday’s rain melted it all.
😫
I do not love the fact that the New York Times locked me out of the mini crossword and the tiles game I’d been playing for free until I updated my mobile app.
.

.
Boo to that.
On a happier note, there was a new bird sighting at Casa River.
.

.
Not a great picture, but he flew off too quickly for more than one.
Evening Grosbeak.
.

.
This sounds like my perfect retirement plan.

Oh, hell no.
I’ve never fired a gun, but that abomination might make me reach for one.
.

.
This.
This is why I never begrudge our grey squirrels a meal.
💕
And finally, just in time for Christmas… an epic gingerbread house fail from my pickle algorithm.
.

.
Just….
No.
.
I’ll check on the peanut and seed supply in a few minutes. As for not asking for help, the person who created that meme never met our squirrels. We’ve had them knock on the front door.
No³ (that’s as much no as I can find a way to type) to the pickle house.
I’d lend you a gun to shoot that clock.

We’ve had them look in the window, but no knocking yet.

That alarm clock is just what Syros and those kittens need.
And don’t knock your photography skills. That bird picture is pretty good!

That Greek island sounds like a perfect getaway for stress induced people. I know I’d love to spend a couple of months there. I’m glad it doesn’t freeze her as often and snow is rare for the squirrels on campus. The freshman student association feeds them. I like pickles but that abomination is a hard pass for me. Speaking of pickles, Google Jalapeño Dr. Pepper and Sonic and see what you find. It’s been a trend here in Texas and New Mexico and it sounds just as bad as anything pickle you’ve come up with 🤣😉

Ugh. That sounds revolting… even for Sonic!

I love that reminder for the squirrels, but I am not loving the gingerpickle residence. That’s a hard pass for me. Yay to that new birdie…welcome!

We always put out food for the squirrels. It’s only fair, given how much entertainment they provide for us.

Do squirrels eat pickles? ‘Cause that might solve two problems at once…

Doubtful.

We have an entire squirrel family that lives in our suburban backyard. I love them all. 🐿️

Oh my God! I’ll meet you in Syros!
Aw, I thought squirrels hibernated. Glad to know differently.

The Grosbeak is lovely!
Poor squirrels—maybe that’s why so many of them are alive and well down south?

I’m always surprised they can survive … and thrive… in our cold.
