Random nonsense.

As I crossed over the new bridge to Brunswick…

X marked the spot.

.

.

For what, I have no idea.

.

.

Not only was I unaware of the slang… I was unaware there’s a Generation Z.

Yay me.

.

.

What the utter hell is that…

And why would you want one?

A friend recommended this book to me last year but knowing it would trigger some painful memories, I put off reading it until now. Written by a hospice nurse about her strange experiences with death, it put me right back in the room when my mother passed. Some things can’t be explained… but they do happen, I witnessed that first hand. And after reading this book I realized what I thought was astounding is pretty commonplace. Which blew my mind all over again.

Yes, the squirrels at Casa River are well fed.

Very well fed.

  1. Before clicking on your post to read, it was the rather plumpy looking squirrel and I thought, you can it’s fed well. No wonder your outside diner is popular with the wildlife that visit you.

  2. I once had a student tell me “I was the bomb” when I arranged for all of the reading class to walk over to McDonalds for lunch. Doesn’t happen anymore and for a reason, but that really threw me a loop. Urban and as for the kids I later taught in Juvenile Detention, I am not sure I want to know their urban dictionary but I sure did hear some things I never need to know again. That being said, I am so happy it is beautiful weather out there! A well fed squirrel-I can never see them going on a diet!

      1. The last word: Be cautious with the quiet ones. I would definitely say after my contract was up that there was a reason they were there. There were ‘no mistakes’ made with the law. Hopefully, as they age they will improve. We can pray. That is all I am going to say.

  3. Did you know there’s also a Generation Alpha? It’s something like current newborns to early teens. A LA Times article I read about them did not have nice things to say about that group.
As for the slang, I can appreciate “beige flag,” but will not use it. The rest are dumb.

  4. Are you sure that squirrel isn’t pregnant? It hardly seems like the right time of year, but my God, she’s huge. Even my thieving bastards haven’t consumed enough peanuts to swell to that size. Yet…

  5. I love the squirrel the most! Body binding bed is for people who kick their bed mates while sleeping 🤣
About the book, I believe there is an after, because I have seen and experienced a lot of “stuff” in my life and shared a house for 3 months with a non-entity which tried to strangle me in sleep and, failing it, barred the bathroom door from outside when I was inside…multiple times. Rattling stuff in store room and playing with fridge door were common occurrences at night. Since I had been strangled thrice in my life by such non-entities, we mostly just ignored it. 🤣

      1. Hehehe! Welcome to my life. I have seen genie a foot away from my face (in its nicer ensemble–golden colour and all). Another genie was living in the spare room in our previous house.
I have kind of in-built radar and feel the non-entities before others. I always thought I was crazy but for the two gentlemen genies and the three strangling ghosts, I has other eye-witnesses. Hence, I started believing my instinct and scooting out of any place that sent chill up my spine

      2. Wow. I wouldn’t have been half as brave as you. No doubt I’d have packed up and run screaming out the door the first time I felt something.
        😳
