.
I like how my Goodreads app summarizes my yearly reading.
.

.
Although they jumped the gun on their annual count this time around.
.

.
As I’d read another 3 books by January first.
.

.
Does size matter?
.

.
Not really, though they always highlight it.
.

.
And look Brian!
One other people have shelved your book.
🤣
.
I haven’t read nearly as much this past year as I usually do. So many other things to occupy my time. Also, it’s getting harder to find books that I really like.

I’m sure, out of that many books, there had to be a few clinkers you just couldn’t take. Is there a special shitcan section for all those hard lessons in literary taste you just couldn’t stand for one more page?

When you mark it as read? You leave a starred review, 1-5.
I’ve left my share of twos.

And now the government AND the book publishing industrial complex both know how much you’ve read.
Goodreads can pry my reading list from my cold, dead hands…

If the government knows I’m well read? All the better.

Lewiston and Portland, I heard.
Both cities have a Somalian population, of hard working, fully integrated, business owners.
Can’t have that.

I finish 95% of what I start.
It’s got to be pretty bad for me to drop a book.

You can also drop a book because it is gorey or gruesome. I would rather read something fluffy and fun than dark and brooding. Sometimes evil is scarier in reality but with novels, I don’t chose to read about true cases of certain crimes. I know it is out there but I prefer the mysteries with stolen monies, art work, but not murder, gruesome. On the other hand, I enjoy when there is a twist that you don’t see coming. If I don’t care for a novel, I usually give it a 2 or a 3 but I don’t say anything nasty as it appears strange or vindicative. I just keep it to myself. Most writers like honest reviews but not personal vendettas as it seems there is something else at play.

I’m a lazy reviewer and read too much to write them. I just drop my stars and call it a day.

Me, too! I read so much that it takes someone exceptional to make me want to write a review. Like Jason Summers, a self published Australian author or an unusual book or sometimes a new author, to encourage them, along. Totally agree. I do get lazy with reviews often.

I don’t read books much anymore, but one of the great things about being on WordPress is following people who do. I see a bunch of recommendations, and if something strikes my fancy I’ll take the plunge!

I’ve always been an avid reader. Can’t imagine life without a book in my hand.

Nice, thanks for sharing your list. Mostly I only rate books if I read them on Kindle, since the app makes it easy.

I’m an old school reader. Never digital, it’s a tactile pleasure for me. 😊

Mariana Trench, eh? My pages might stretch to Lake Michigan.

Maybe I should get Goodreads, I didn’t read as much last year, only 7 books total. I have Where the Crawdads Sing, and now I know why it’s shelved so much, lol.

Everyone loved that book and raved about it. Me? Not so much…

Thanks, River. I’d rather be at the bottom of a list that not on any list at all. (Unless it’s a list that the Trump Administration has put together. I don’t want to be on any of those…)
