Sleeping cats, roach clips and opossums.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten can sleep anywhere at anytime.

.

.

Even sitting up straight in the sun.

He really was sound asleep and tumbled onto the couch shortly after the picture was taken… losing all that hard won feline dignity in the process.

.

.

As promised –

This isn’t the actual feathered roach clip photo I’d been searching for, but it’s from the same Halloween party circa 1981. By the time this was taken I’d lost the headband and tomahawk, but the clips are still there.

🤣

.

.

We have one little visiting opossum.

.

.

It’s so cold, and his fur is just thin hairs.

.

.

I never understand how they can survive Maine winters, but they do.

And speaking of winter…

.

.

This is our immediate future.

With the local news using some pretty technical meteorological terms…

.

.

Major fluff!

  1. I hope your little opossum is keeping itself warm. We had a pack of coyotes yipping and howling outside last night… the wildlife visits are always a treat!

  2. I suppose the weather is just wreaking havoc all over the place. We are a very mild climate in my part of the country. But the last three days it’s been below 27 degrees and it’s been freaking raining the entire time. I’m so sick of the rain already because it stops around midnight, then freezes and people get stupid. Then it starts raining by 7am and this horrid weather cycle starts all over again. Most of east Texas looks like a blizzard hit, and some have lost power. But not my little corner of Texas, we’re on a different power grid 😉. His Lordship will look regal no matter how he tumbles….lol.

  3. Not a flake, not one. They were calling for sleet and freezing rain overnight, I don’t have any frost on my windshield. It’s supposed to be really cold, I think they got that right, It’s a little disappointing. Good morning for pancakes 🥞🥞🥞

  4. I want 12-18″ of new, cold, dry snow! I guess I’ll have to settle for a high that gets above zero for the first time in days. With an overcast sky, I’d prefer snow or colder with sun. I had to scoop up a dead bird from my driveway. I don’t know if it was just the cold or if it had some underlying condition.

As for falling asleep sitting up, we know someone else who does that frequently. If only he would topple over in the midst of a cabinet meeting. That video would go viral in minutes.

  5. Fluff sounds fun actually. In Reno Nevada (where I grew up) we didn’t get a lot of snow and it would mix with the dirt and become frozen mud. Thus whatever snowmen we managed to make — well, let’s just say they would have deported by ICE. (sorry trying to say apolitical – stay warm!)

  6. I’ve always said I would never live on the Eastern Seaboard, and it’s all down to those winter storms. Even being from Wisconsin/Minnesota, I find them legendary (and far too frequent). Eighteen inches?! No thank you, We get numbers like that here, too, but it’s up by Lake Superior and I would never live up there (for the same reason) either. Stay safe and warm.
