.
My day started with a sweet little flower delivery.
.

.
With some gorgeous peach and pink roses.
.

.
The colors were lovely.
.

.
And they were in full bloom.
.

.
42 Valentine’s Days together and he still sends me flowers. I must be doing something right.
❤️
There was also a box of artisan alcoholic truffles.
My husband knows me well.
.

.
Okay, I already ate the Kahlua.
So sue me.
.

.
We went out for a late lunch to the home of the world’s best pork chop we’ve visited before so I’ll spare you another review… other than to say my meal was superb.
PORK TENDERLOIN RISOTTO —
Maine Family Farms roasted pork tenderloin, arborio rice, onion, white wine, cream, thyme, brie, brown sugar peach sauce.
This place knows pork. Yum!
.

.
Next door? An elephant who clearly disregards parking bans.
And finally, in honor of Valentine’s Day.
.

.
Hearts pop up everywhere…
.

.
And it’s just what’s needed to brighten gloomy winter spirits.
❤️
.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Lovely flowers and I love the heart bandit tradtition.

That is very sweet, especially the candies! I enjoyed yellow roses, my favorite, so many. They are sitting in the sun. The best part was that the husband despite his not feeling well went out and got them in person. Now, he is making dinner, stuffed peppers, and our beautiful new addition to the porch is intact. I cleaned a lot today, and the weather is gorgeous. Yesterday was my turn to make dinner. Both of us are such light eaters lately, that we bring home half the food but we try to choose carefully. Anyway, it was a good one and for you and yours, also!

What a lovely day! You can’t go wrong with flowers, chocolate, and a great meal. And I loved learning about the heart bandit tradition… what a joy!

He didn’t collect anything when I married him, that came later.
A total bait and switch!

I, for real, laughed hard!! I think you got a good deal… but I’m not certain.

I try to keep it contained to the cellar… which I no longer visit… and the top floor of the barn. Things float out now and then, but I’ve learned to corral.
The real horror will begin after he passes and I have to get rid of it all.

Wait. You mean that after a certain point, fists are no longer required? What is this magic number? Asking for a friend…

Flowers, not fists. WTF autocorrect?!
Though fists may be relevant in some less happy unions…

Flowers are never required, but always appreciated. And much better than fists..

On that note, I found the book “Nobody Wants Your Shit” to be inspiring. It’s very short… maybe Mr River will benefit from it.

A lovely bouquet as always.
I love that, what the Valentine’s Day Bandit did and how it is being kept up. I first heard about it here. 😊

That would have been lovely to witness. I have not come across anything like that before. 😊

A lot of small towns have taken up the tradition and you see them everywhere now, not just Portland. During Covid they were placed on nurses, doctors and first responders homes as a way of saying thank you.

My son graffitied Hummingbirds all over a section of Portland as well. He said he did it so his niece and nephew would see them when they were taken out on walks. I think he was just naughty.

Aww, that’s an awesome thing, the Valentines Bandit had the right idea. Who wouldn’t love this in their own town? That pork tenderloin looks awesome! And you are definitely doing something right if the hubs is still sending you flowers and candy 😉. Because he knows what a great catch you are!

The brown sugar peaches in combination with the Brie risotto? Perfect.
And yes, the heart bandit is a sweetie.

Every time I mention possibly celebrating Valentine’s Day for once, Tara snorts and says she doesn’t need a special day to celebrate our love. At least I’m saving $$$ on flowers! Glad yours is still special after all these years.

He sends me flowers three times a year. My birthday, our anniversary and Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately for him that means December, January and February.

Ya know, as much as we (you? us?) complain (not really) about your honey, he is the best. Ok, it’s all in good fun. Ya’ll are lovely together!
I ADORE the heart bandit. We need more of that.
