Another batch of silly maps, because someone has too much on their hands… besides me.

.
In Maine, it’s woods. Which could be charming… or slightly terrifying.
.

.
Yay for Maine.
Even our big cities are small.

.
Florida residents, please chime in here.
.

.
Yup.
Dinner out is precious here.
.

.
Maine used to have one, and it had a lovely waterfront location not far from us.
.

The Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was a 900-megawatt, single-unit pressurized water reactor in Wiscasset, Maine, that operated from 1972 to 1996. As the state’s largest electricity generator, it provided significant power but was shut down due to economic unviability and safety concerns. Decommissioning was completed in 2005, though high-level waste remains in dry storage on-site.
.
High level dry nuclear waste storage… on the ocean.
No. Nothing can go wrong there.
😳

.
Hard to believe in today’s world, but yes… places that don’t lock their doors still exist.
It’s wonderful.

Ugh. As a kid I lived through the accident at 3 mile island from a distance but still..Yay Nuclear ! 😑

It’s great. Until it isn’t…
And then it really, really isn’t.

About the Nuclear Plant, if there is a Godzilla coming next, we know where to look for the origin 🙂

In some parts of Maine, that’s an aphrodisiac.

The most common words in dating profiles is interesting. I can believe “hike” for AZ, but I’m curious about the context of a few of these…

Most of my maps don’t make sense.
That’s half their charm…

This is all amazing, but especially the words people use in their profiles I’m sitting here waiting at the vets and read this out to my husband, and we laughed and laughed. Having stayed in nearly every state, gotta say yep on many.

You mean one of these maps is accurate?
That’s almost disappointing…

I’m sorry! I had to press send before I was done. The one about a word in dating apps was especially grand.

I spent 31 years working for the insurance company that would pay you in the event of a nuclear accident at a commercial power facility (they did pay after Three Mile Island). I’ll avoid the propaganda, but I remain a fan.

The problem is…. you rarely live long enough to collect. And it’s a horrible way to go.

I lived in Nevada and that whole state is radioactive! There’s a one hundred mile stretch of freeway that runs along the atomic bomb testing sites. There are signs warning you to roll up your windows and don’t stop and get out your car unless absolutely necessary!
Give me a nuclear power plant over that any day.

Like rolling up your windows will help.
Damn.

The single remaining reactor in California (that isn’t on a Navy ship in San Diego) should close in four more years. We’re almost up to 50% of our energy being generated by renewables!

Minnesota is neighbour to Manitoba. Our license plates read Friendly Manitoba. We try to keep things cool between us, but Trump is not helping.
