.
As I mentioned previously we are minus a chair cushion on the barn porch furniture…
.

.
And a nesting woodchuck is as good as an excuse as any to shop for a new set. (We’d had this one for 14 years. It was time)
You may remember how ridiculously time consuming furniture shopping with my husband can be. Don’t let them tell you that women are hard to please… my man’s middle name is Goldilocks. Nothing is ever quite right.
.

.
This set?
Too grey.
.

.
This set?
He’s not a sectional fan.
And so our visit to the first store went. Until he found this…
.

.
I liked the set, it was attractive, well made and comfortable….but after an unheard of viewing of only a quarter of one store?
The husband fell in love.
.

.
With, God help me… a recliner.
An outdoor recliner.
I didn’t even know there was such a thing. And to be honest, I wasn’t thrilled with the discovery.
🥴
I’m not a recliner fan, never have been. (It took me damn near 20 years to get rid of the one we had in our den. 😡)
But oh, my husband was a happy camper.
So much so, he wouldn’t even get out of the damn thing to talk to the salesman.
.

.
I tried to talk him into the swivel chair instead but he was having none of that.
So my husband, the man who grumbles at high prices and cushions that aren’t firm enough and styles that are too modern…. happily ordered this not inexpensive set with nary a blink.
To say I was shocked is an understatement. But we are now the proud owners of a couch, love seat, tile coffee table … and an outdoor recliner. Delivery next week.
.

.
I thought these little boat shaped bundles of greenery were cute… until I saw the price.
$199. Each.
For plastic plants!
WTH?
.
I laughed. I’m proud of you for going with success!

It’s lovely and like you, I have learnt something new today regarding the recliner for outdoor furniture.

It was not a happy discovery. At least for me.

I’d be a little concerned about it getting kinda funky if and when it gets wet

It’s under a covered porch, has water resistant fabric and an all weather frame. Should be okay.

Wow, when it’s time for some new seat cushions, you do not mess around. Just in time for some summer porch reading; have a good time 📚👌

The old set was an odd size and it was hard to find replacement cushions that fit properly. I had them recovered once and it was pricey. It was time for new, I’d been sputtering about it for a while.

When you fall in love with a chair, what can you do? I fell in love with a rocker while on a bike trip. Four years later I was back in the same store and went to sit in it (or another version of it) and a customer warned me not to, saying I’d never want to get out of it. I said, “That’s the point”. Since I was on my bike I couldn’t buy it but swore to return with a car, which I did months later. That chair sits on my porch.

You could have looked at 10 more places, but you know you would have ended up back here. Job well done!
