.
Woodchucks and skunks abound at Casa River, but trash pandas come and go in irregular intervals.
.

.
We’ll see them for a week or two and then they’ll disappear.
.

.
This week brought a nice chubby fellow.
.

.
Raccoons are fun to watch. They have very expressive faces and extremely dexterous paws.
.

.
They also love water. So much, I have to provide a nightly bowl or they tip over my birdbath which still has the cracks and chips from last year’s visitors.
.

.
Cute.
.

.
But occasionally destructive.
.

.
No matter.
.

.
We welcome them all.
.
So cute. I like that over-the-shoulder look he’s giving you. I think he knew you were planning to talk about him.
We love seeing them. They get a bad rap, but they are welcome here, too.

They knock over my heavy ceramic bird bath, but other than that the only bad thing they do is steal the suet cages. Now I just bring it in at night. A small price to pay.

The cage or the raccoon? I had to ask because someone around here wants to let the great outdoors in on cold and rainy days.

Ha!
I wish I could say the raccoon, but alas… just the cage.

All are welcome…that’s the motto here as well for our wildlife friends. Raccoons are adorable.

I don’t understand how people can be cruel to animals. If it were up to me all our visitors would be in the living room…

They are gorgeous animals for sure!! And so intelligent! I remember as a kid being fascinated with the fact that they wash their food before they eat it. I would play around with the food on my plate and pretend to wash it.

My husband had one as a pet when he was young. The whole family loved it.

Great photos. We had a family in Palm Springs who would visit our pool at night. Once the baby fell in the pool and our yellow lab was barking at it and would let him leave the pool. The parents sat on the fence and watched.

Oh, the poor little guy. I hope he got out…

We took our dog inside and let the parents help their baby out of the pool. I remember the whole thing started with our cat being cornered by the raccoons and Angus our dog went for the rescue.

I had a momma with 3 late-season kids last night. I want to cuddle the babies sooooo much!

They’re puff balls and look sooo cute! In the vid, I’m obsessed with the one that seems to usher it’s sibling under the chair!
