.
We finally saw a little rain, and after that some sun.
.

.
Which made for a lovely rainbow.

.
But there wasn’t a pot of gold at the end of ours…
.

.
No… it was something stinkier.

I’m guessing the leprechauns won’t be wanting to steal them.

Stinky, but oh so damn cute. No rainbows in Southern Alberta. It’s either total downpour or sweltering heat. And, of course, wildfire smoke from Washington and British Columbia. Maybe Oregon too.

I love them. And they’re quite entertaining to watch.
Sorry your conditions aren’t rainbow ready.

But that’s life, isn’t it.

The Board of Skuckification moved from my porch to your yard. I don’t blame them!
The first pic reminds me of the TeleTubbie rainbow & sun baby.

I’ve seen the skunks wiggle out of the woodchuck burrows a few times this week. Can’t imagine the chucks are too pleased with that!

Raccoons startled a skunk on the porch and I think it sprayed without turning its butt at them first – so it got my porch/wall instead. Not the greatest in humid heat!!

No, it isn’t.

I can smell it in the hallway, entrance, and living room, but not my bedroom. I haven’t gone out on the porch yet (it happened around 1am).

The spray is very oily, if it hits a hard surface its staying power is doubled.
Better buy some bleach.

Dawn dish soap breaks up the oil and I have an enzyme cleaner that might work too. The smell is strong but not horribly offensive to me so, most likely, I’ll just ignore it.

The skunks are digging for the pot of gold. They will pull it out for you some day. Trust them!

That would be nice.

We’ve been short on both skunks and rainbows this year. It appears they have drifted northward. Skunks in the woodchuck burrows? Oh my.

It’s never happened before and was a bit surprising.

This isn’t at all where I thought this was going to go! I laughed so hard. It definitely made my day, but I hope that the skunks leave you alone.

We have a family who lives in our woods and visits every night. We coexist peacefully.

This is so funny!! A pot of gold would be nice, but the little stinkers are pretty darn cute, I must admit.

Beautiful rainbow! And cute if not stinky gold.

Thankfully they’re rarely stinky…

If cute was a currency, you’d have a pot of gold.
