Cape Cod Day 7… Woods Hole aquarium Part 2.

So many wonderful creatures to photograph.

The bizarre…

To the beautiful…

And back again.

That’s a smile only a mother could love.

Seahorses.

Is there anything weirder…

IMG_9622

Or more wonderful to watch swimming?

I think not.

This was the largest tank in the aquarium.

And the husband was fascinated by it’s largest occupant.

I think they were having a moment.

But we had to go upstairs….

And take a peek from a different perspective.

Not many aquariums will let you behind the scenes but Woods Hole is delightfully different.

You can chat with the staff who prepare the fish food…

Groan at some bad jokes…

IMG_9636

And trade smiles with the residents.

I swear he winked at me.

I did not, but I do now.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I hated to say goodbye.

And by the looks of this guy, he was sorry to see us leave as well. To which I can only say…

Alright, I could have said something else.

But this seemed appropriate.

  1. “You can chat with the staff who prepare the fish food…” After 5 years, at least, since your last food pictures I probably would have stolen the fish FOOD!
When I lived in Memphis I had 3 saltwater tanks–they are a very varied selection and whether ugly or beautiful their colors are eye catching!

  2. Just so you know, it wasn’t me who wrote that bad joke about OCTO-PIE being what sharks eat for dessert.
MY bad joke would’ve been: Sharks don’t eat fish for dessert because they tried some once, and it was CRAPPIE.
