.
Continuing in the if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em paradigm, I gifted the husband some nice new pool sticks.
.

.
Canadian maple of various colors and weights.
.

.
I also gathered some of the military patches he’s had stuck in his drawer for years.
.

.
I’m trying to think of some way to display them… you know, a way that doesn’t involve sewing. Because my love only goes so far.
.

.
A few man cave appropriate books were dropped on the table…. and then –
.

.
Our bar building contractor showed up with the top of the bar.
.

.
I have to admit I was liking the 3 different shades of wood colors….
.

.
Until I realized that was the unfinished side. But after it was sanded down and smoothed, even the husband agreed it would need to be stained before the polyurethane.
Victory is mine!
.

.
And that called for a drink. Or a cocktail in a pretty can as the case may be.
.
Superglue the patches around the rim of the pool table!! (Oh, I am so clever!!)

Ohh the Marine Man Cave is looking pretty darn good! As for those patches, you can fine a shadow box, and use liquid stitch to adhere them to a nice felt (or whatever material) of your choice. Now sewing needed AND you can remove them later should the hubs want a change. Those cocktails look awesome! 🥃🍸🍹🧉🍷🥂🍻🍺

I wanted to do a shadow box for my husband’s ribbons and medals but he said no. As for the cocktails, they were quite tasty….for canned.

Oh then he’s a modest man, and prefers them for his own. Or he’s just Grumpy bear until his man cave bar is complete.

Or a little bit of both.

I’m rather intrigued by the underside of the bar top, as well. But at least there has been movement in the Acceptance of the Stain campaign…

I can wear down the hardest rock. Which may be why some say I have the personality of sand paper…

Now all you need is a liquor license so you can start charging for drinks and recoup all the money you’ve poured into the bar/barn.

While I’d love to see the expense returned… no. That would require putting in bathrooms and I don’t want to give the husband any ideas.

Like The Huntress I liked the idea of a shadow box for the patches but I guess that’s been nixed.
It’s the pool cues that really impress me, though. I bet your husband’s a bit of a shark. Maybe he’ll talk the contractor into a game of nine-ball and win a free renovation.

Were those Cocktail glasses or boxes? They are really pretty.

They’re canned cocktails…. sold in the beer section of my grocery store.
