I don’t often catch the baby woodchucks nibbling my flowers but this little dude was quite brazen.

Strolled right up on the deck and started chewing the bloomless petunia I’d transplanted from the garden to a pot because they were eating it.
Yeah.
That worked well….

Well, your flare for capturing wildlife is beyond any other. But then again, who has as much wildlife on their property like you do?
I’m sure glad I don’t have to worry about that….but I could use a goat or two to help with the growing grass and weeds growing unchecked in my front and back yards.

This kind of wildlife capturing I could do without!

He’s probably glad he doesn’t have to bend down to eat. Very thoughtful of you.

Not why I put it there. But I’m sure you’re right.

How many a petunia could a woodchuck consume – ya
cannot say if you shoo chuck away
before his chews to do in a petunia.

So far they’ve utterly destroyed 8 petunias. And two mallow, a lupine, 3 coleus, 3 cosmos, a bellflower and 2 begonias.

I feel your pain. My suggestion may not be excellent —
But, for what it’s worth, have you tried woodchuck repellent?

Sadly I have tried that. They ate right through it….

See, if you’d get to setting up another camera, he wouldn’t have known you were there and could have happily continued eating for our viewing pleasure. Some sound effects would be nice, too. Oh wait. um. Yeah…

That’s as much eating for viewing pleasure I’m going to allow.

Do squirt bottles work on those guys? They do on Most cats.

They’re pretty skittish, all I have to do is open the door and they run. But I have to catch them at it first….
