Consisting of 450 oceanfront acres , there are ample opportunities for strolling.
.

.
The resort itself spreads out in various areas with various types of buildings… and gives you a feeling of stepping back in time.
.

.
Individual cottages straight out the 1950’s are across the road from modern condos.
.

.
And everywhere you look there’s something photo worthy.

The rugged Maine coast is on full display. No wide sandy beaches in this neck of the woods.
.

.
The resort has their own cruise boat and offers scenic tours of the area.

.
And naturally my husband had to strike up an hour long conversation with the boat’s captain.

Ever spent the night in a lighthouse inspired suite? You can here.
.

.
And it’s right across from a moonlit dancing lobster. What more could you want?

Low tide.

Another cottage.

The cove.

Ahhh…. Maine.
It never fails to lower my blood pressure.

My dad used to have long conversations with strangers. While we were at Six Gun Territory (a western-based theme park), my dad disappeared. We finally found him in the back of a knife shop throwing knives with a fellow vet…

Looks like the Lake Superior Coastline. Beautiful…

What I loved about it was the peace and quiet. Really out of the way.

What a beautiful stretch of coast, I’m jealous. You know being landlocked and all.

I’ve lived in three states and always been coastal. Grew up on the Jersey shore, enjoyed lovely stretches of sandy beaches in North Carolina and of course the rocky coast of Maine. I have to say for pure scenic beauty… Maine wins hands down.

The cottages look cute. Have you ever stayed in one? Just wondering if they are as cute inside.

I’d tend to agree, but the cottages are waterfront.

So beautiful! Now that I’m sort of in the vicinity, I’ll have to add it to my list.

Wonderful! We used to stay in Cabot Cove Cottages in Kennebunkport with my grandparents (who would take us up there on a “Mystery Ride”) ~ very reminiscent of these shots.
Where did you grow up in NJ? We lived in Monmouth County growing up, near Point Pleasant and Manasquan beaches.

Union County. Spent summer days at Sandy Hook, but had friends in Point Pleasant we would visit often.

Maine may have a dancing lobster, but Ohio has a dancing pig that’s a real ham:
