Christina’s World is one of Andrew Wyeth’s most famous paintings.

So surely I can’t be the only one who sees the similarities here….
.
.
Let’s examine the Museum of Modern Art’s description. I’ve circled the pertinent parts for comparison.

Am I right, or am I right?

And while Lord Dudley doesn’t have polio like poor Christina, he does share her propensity for crawling…. so I’m calling it.

As many times as I have seen it I never knew the backstory–thanks–you have done YOUR good deed for the day!

Yes, the similarities are striking, although I think his Lordship is thinking how far he could sprint should that harness come off…😝

The similarities would have been even greater (and your roof less leaky) if the weather hadn’t been so kind to your lush grass.

I shall attempt to recreate the tableau with dead grass in the future…

Thank you. I always knew Dudley was a piece of work… just didn’t know it was art.

The difference is in the “thought”. The girl is thinking “I am tired and hungry, I need to get to the barn house”, whereas his Lordship is thinking “eventually someone will bring me something to eat, so I think I will just sit around and do nothing a little longer”.
