When the herd shows up early, before we’ve put out the nightly snack?

Raiding the bird feeders is the next best thing.

And if you’ve ever wondered why they’re called white tailed deer?

Hey lady…. it’s time for dinner.

Those are some cuties! How many times does a buck los his antlers in a lifetime? I mean I live where we see rattlers (yuck) shed their skin up to four times a year or more. I’m not familiar with the antler/rack loss of deer.

The bucks lose their antlers every year after the rut. It usually happens late December/January but the last few years we’ve been seeing them shed in the spring.

Hey Bambi, watch out–‘they’ killed your mother!!! (And millions of kids were traumatized! And still are—including me!)

They are fierce critics. It’s a good thing you’re not listed on Yelp.

It costs us a fortune. They should be giving me five stars!

Raiding the bird feeders seems like it would also provide them some mental stimulation, like the sort keepers offer to zoo animals. Although being wild deer they probably get plenty of mental stimulation.

I don’t think I’m making it challenging enough. They empty it in no time…

Ours come into our yard every day even without us putting out snacks.

So do ours. But then they destroy the bird feeders, eat all my flowers and strip the ornamental trees…

Have you ever considered putting out a mineral lick?

We did that quite a few times. No interest whatsoever…
