We don’t see many of these guys in our immediate neighborhood, but have seen the occasional Nero nearby. The laying down while eating part…our geese do that a lot and it is hysterical to drive or walk by and see them sprawled out, munching away.

Was it hot/humid out? Nero looks a little heat-stressed. Perhaps he needs a wading pool for relaxing after his meal…;-)

It’s been warm, but he comes after the sun goes down so it wasn’t hot. And we put out a large shallow pan of water so technically he could take a dip.

Why, of all the Roman Emporers, “Nero.” Marcus Antonius, maybe. Or even Julius himself. But Nero? He doesn’t look like a “fiddler” to me.

He’s wary, the neighbors have a big dog. But yes, I think he feels at home.
