.
I woke up to this the other day.
.

.
Husband was having his coffee, I was reading the news and Lord Dudley went running to the back door.
.

.
Where a little inter species communication commenced.
I was all for letting our little back deck visitor in, but was prohibited to do so by my grumpy husband.
Boo to unadventurous spouses.
.
The visitor looks adorable in that last shot, like they are communicating their desire to enter to his Lordship. I don’t know how an actual face-to-face would have played out, but I’d love to see pictures of that if it did.

And yet you won’t give Mama Squirrel a home!?!?!??

She moves in without asking. Very rude….

I have a few in-laws like that who invite themselves for an overnight (or two or three night) visit. Even my wife admits that some on her side of the family are more brazen than on my side.Thankfully(?) we’ve finally gotten too old to be able to deal with it any longer, and say so.

Would you feel the way about the red squirrel?

I think Lord Dudley was inviting the squirrel in for breakfast! Ha!

That’s a woodchuck!

Oh, fuuuu…I mean, Oh woodchuck! Sorry about that! My eyes are going. I’m sure your cat wouldn’t mind a woodchuck for breakfast instead of a squirrel. Also, from yesterday’s post, I think burrow may be the opposite of sploot. You can burrow by yourself, I would think, though I have no personal experience doing so. M

I’m thinking more along the lines of a woodchuck playmate… not meal.

Not sure his lordship would know what to do if you had. Maybe it was a good thing.

Probably not. But it would have been funny as hell.

What a fun photo! Does your hubby ever go anywhere alone or with friends? Encourage him to leave for a few so Chuck can come in.

He does, but sadly he and the woodchuck are gone at the same times.

Dudley looks awfully chill considering the visitor at the door!

He looks chill, but was actually quite tense.

Your cat is so calm. Our dogs would’ve acted like a burglar was at the door.

And therein lies the difference between species.
