.
Walking around the village, there were ample rocks.
.

.
This is the Maine coast after all.
.

.
We walked the harbor… taking in the sights, sounds and random clumps of rope.
.

.
It’s a place frozen in time and all the better for it.
.

.
A few old buildings have been spruced up for overnight accommodations, but there are no chain hotels and not a Denny’s in sight.
.

.
It’s first and foremost a fishing town, and unlike many of its southern brethren has managed to hold back the inevitable tide of “progress”.
.
.

.
If you’re ever in the area….
.

.
It’s definitely worth a look.
.
If I go to a town calling “Stonington”, there had better be at least a place where I can buy a bong.

I didn’t see one, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t. Weed is legal up here and cannabis stores are everywhere.

One of the reasons I’m retiring up there.

It’s a bit crazy. The tiniest little town that doesn’t have a bar or a restaurant will have three cannabis stores. They’re everywhere.

For guys like me who can’t process alcohol properly, weed is a godsend.

It looks like Stephen King would love to live there if he already doesn’t. I love the name Stonington, which means you found tons of rocks to photograph. I’d love to visit up there, it looks so peaceful.

King lives in Bangor in a spooky old Victorian house. It’s a popular tourist destination, people just park and sit there.

That’s even creepier, just sitting there and watch his house? Now I know where he gets all his ideas for novels, like Misery and Dolores Claiborne…..

People make pilgrimages there and always ask, “Have you seen Stephen King’s house yet?” No. And I don’t plan to anytime soon.

Looks peaceful and serene. Nice photos and video. Sometimes “progress” is overrated!

It definitely looks more rugged and less like a tourist trap than a lot of the other places you visit.
I wholeheartedly approve.

It’s not a tourist town, though they find it anyway.
