.
Ever since my husband started his insulation and ceiling project down in the cellar, things have started to float upstairs…
.

.
The den couch is now covered in crap.
.

.
As is the den chair. These old uniforms (and ratty, full of holes, military issue socks because we can’t throw anything out, ever! ) were so stinky and full of mildew I made him take them to the laundromat in the next town. What does he plan on doing with them? Absolutely nothing.
.

.
My auxiliary side desk in the home office is now covered in coins.
.

.
And musty old boxes are being unpacked in the living room.
This particular box unearthed a treasure he was thrilled to see again.
See if you can figure out why…
.

.
Men.
They’re easily amused.
.
Even I can’t back this play. Cathy would totally have my ass over something like that, and rightly so. I hope for a peaceful resolution, good luck.

Lol. I bet you could get some coin for that cork screw. 😂
Omg I’m having spazzy twitches here just from looking at these pictures…
Good luck.

The corkscrew has made its way to the man cave bar so I doubt that’s going anywhere…

That’s a good spot for it. It is pretty cool in a pissing putti sort of way.

Cork screw. How about cockscrew! I’m a guy, but I would never buy that — even as a joke!

Oh man, I feel for you. There is a lot of clutter in our apartment which is mostly not mine, plus my wife hates white walls…as cool as it can be with all the art and whatnot on our walls, I prefer a bit more structure but it is what it is.

When I married my husband he was in the Marine Corps… neat, clean, uncluttered and squared away. Looking back I’m not even sure when the pack rat collecting started… but even though he doesn’t actively buy anymore? There are decades of crap to sort through.

Is that a model for a P-51 Mustang! It NEEDS a place of honor. It, along with the Spitfire, brought down the Mighty Luftwaffe in WW2.

It is, but the box must never be opened. That ruins the value.

It’s an obsession. He loves to pay a dollar for something he thinks is worth twenty. Which might be okay if he was willing to sell them..

My my what an exemplary sample of peronei’s disease ! I can just see the carrot for the TV commercial. Increase it in size about ten times and it can go into the garden next to the peeing statuary. Or NOT !

We used to have a very similar couch to the one in your den. It looked great and felt great to sit in… for awhile. After some rough use, and 5 or 6 cats, it turned into an eyesore. It wasn’t even comfortable anymore. Hope yours lasts longer than ours did!

That couch is ancient. Our cats destroyed one arm of the loveseat so that’s long gone, but it’s held up pretty well considering.

Even though I have no children, my wife did. And there were nieces and nephews and cousins with kids of their own, besides! They all had fun on that couch. For us it did not survive.
Today, living 2000 kilometers away from my family, it might survive. Gail too is childless. But we still have 5 cats, sometimes 6, so I doubt it.

We moved up here with 6. Now, we just have one.

I don’t think he’d tolerate another cat, and he’d live under the bed if we ever got a dog… so, yes. Going solo for now.

Poor you. Multiple cats keep us entertained in a way no television show can. Every morning I get to see our old male and youngest female playfight to be King of the Castle on our cat tree in the bedroom. It is a wonderful way to wake up. Tecumseh is getting on in years, and SiSi helps to keep him young. She is 3 years old now, but she still acts like a kitten. Except she can run a hekkuva lot faster than a kitten. When her and the other girls play, it is best to just take a front row seat and just watch, or we might end up bleeding, just because.

It’s fine. We always had a houseful of pets and never traveled anywhere… just too hard to find someone to care for them when we were gone. Now we have one little guy and a neighbor who can drop by to feed, water and scoop poop.

That can be a problem. Right now we have a mother and 3 kids who come over and do all that plus play with them and cuddle them. Best of both worlds. Mind you, we never go away for more than four days, with an occasional week if circumstances dictate. Vacations are not a big thing for us, given our mobility issues.

We haven’t done much of it since Covid, but with multiple cats, it was always a big hindrance to getting away.
