In Maine… you never what you’ll find around the next bend in the road.
.

.
Yesterday it was a rather large flock of wild turkeys.
.

.
Who were in absolutely no hurry to move out of my way.
.

.
Since the husband chases every one of their brethren who show up under our bird feeders out of the yard due to prodigious amounts of poo….
.

.
I was happy to stop and watch them amble by.
.
That’s a pretty big bunch. They probably know your car. I’ve been stopped a few times around here. It’s a nice diversion.

You are in your own little world there with not much intruding except the flock of turkey and a few news station. Must be interesting. It is like another culture.

Don’t people hunt them anymore?

Turkey season is in May…

Reminds me of the Canada geese who (when they’re ‘in town’) strut around the nearby shopping center parking lot like they own the place, and won’t get out of the way until they’re good and ready. I don’t know if they even crossed the border into this country legally!

I guess the turkeys save their poo till they are in your yard. The road looks clean to me…

They are pooping fools. When they get under our bird feeders it really is a mess..,

That’s funny. I am glad they trust you enough not to run them over.

They can fly, but prefer not to.

I bet Turkey poo can be really big. I also bet they are not hanging around like that on November 24th.

It’s a large gooey splat. And hard to avoid when there are a dozen depositing it.

That’s a huge flock! I agree, they’re fantastic to look at, but walking in their poop wouldn’t be a fun time.

I thought your husband loved a good bargain. You’d think he’d be okay with all that free fertilizer for the yard!

Not when he has tiptoe through the goo… no.
