Taking pleasure where you find it.

.

Cats. They’re marvelous creatures who definitely know how to relax.

.

.

And Lord Dudley Mountcatten takes full advantage of his spoiled and pampered life of leisure.

.

.

He’s also the reason all the legs of our coffee table end in scratch marks …

.

.

His fascination with wrapping himself around them is strange.

.

.

But also too damned cute to stop.

  1. We have a few things with telltale claw marks, but our cats can’t hold a candle to the bun who, as a rabbit, must chew constantly to keep her teeth short (they never stop growing). We provide her with lots of acceptable options, but the legs of our dining room set are unfortunately very tasty with just the right texture and mouth feel.

  2. We just got some new living room furniture and we drowned it in Feliway to keep everyone’s claws out of it. So far so good. We get a couple hours of sunshine in our kitchen every afternoon. It reflects off of my wrist watch and the dot jumps around while I’m cooking or making a cup of tea. Otto will have us painting the whole thing soon enough from scratching off the paint. Best time ever.

    1. Dudley loves his scratching post and doesn’t attack furniture… on purpose. Though his claws always get stuck on the stuck on the back on the couch which is now shredded.

  3. We held on to our (Ugly and uncomfortable) sofa and chair until it became intolerable. Betty doesn’t scratch much of anything but Archie and Otto race around the house. I know it’s not going to be long before there will be throws slung around all over the place. Oh well, a cat that scratches up the furniture is better than no cat at all.
