We’ve had a crazy spring. Or really, a crazy non spring. Cool, overcast and dreary with a little scattered rain here and there. Not nearly the April showers we needed.
.

.
I had high hopes for a deluge when we were driving home under these skies last week.
.

.
They were ominous and promised some good rain.
.

.
It was falling somewhere.
.

.
But not in our backyard.
.

.
This was taken on the other side of town.
Oh well, maybe next time.
.
I love when the skies around here look like that. But sorry that you didn’t get a drop of the rain that went past.

We have had but about 1 hour of rain this spring. Not much to write a blog about. We are safe so far but our province in burning! And we are looking at temps in the 30°C or 90F° range this weekend and next week. By this time next week we could be on evacuation notice, we have no idea.
Hopefully with Maine being a coastal state you don’t have to worry about wildfires, Rg. Unfortunately we do.

Our area doesn’t usually have wildfires though they do farther north. Our last few summers have been drier than normal, but with no snow melt and a dry spring? I worry.

My fingers are crossed gor both of us. Out town has a normal population of 3500, but because of evacuees from wildfires around us we are presently over 7000. Many of them know their family homes have been destroyed, and there is nothing they can do. It will be months before their lucky neighbours can go home becsuse the water, gas, and electricity have all been destroyed. They were ancient systems, built years ago so this is maybe a blessing in disguise, but no one is ready to feel that way yet. Life us not easy for them at present. My heart goes out to them.

I can’t even imagine that. Losing everything in one fell swoop. So sad…

At last count 100 homes had burned in Fox Lake, and the fires are still not out. Oh yeah, the RCMP headquarters/jail also went up in smoke. No one is really crying about that!

Life from another angle, thinking about this morning’s post. We are never really in charge, we are just temporary users of things we can only pretend belong to us. (That statement now refers to 5 totally unrelated blog posts i commented on this morning. Everything is coming together. For better or worse I swear I don’t know!)

It’s been weeks since we’ve had any thunderstorm action. C’mon already!
