Why is it every time I clean the windows?

.
A drive by birding. It’s like they wait for the Windex…

.
Yes. That is actually the McDonalds in Freeport, Maine.

.
Another reason I love my state.

Do not try to remove His Lordship’s catnip. There will be consequences… and most likely, blood.

Rain. The husband’s car. And a woodchuck staying dry.
Enough said.

Rain means rainbows.
.

.
And we’ve certainly had our share lately.

A rainbow??? You’re history’s greatest monster!

The rainbow is delightful as is the McDonald’s. The first I’m familiar with but I’ve never seen a Mickey D’s like that one.

Freeport has a very strict building code to help retain the small village feel. It took a long time for them to approve McDonalds moving in.

Has the rain slowed down the driveway work?

Not yet as we’ve been having on and off light showers. But we’re due for some heavier stuff soon….

Ohhhhh, fancy schmancy Mickey D’s in Maine. It must be nice having rain, all we’ve gotten is wildfire smoke from up in northern New Mexico. Let’s just say I haven’t seen a clear day in over two months.

We had a dry spring. No April showers but June was wet almost every day. The smoke is awful everywhere. I still can’t believe we’re not getting it…

Freeport is an interesting town. Love the shot of the woodchuck trying to stay dry.

I remember Freeport when the only thing there was L.L. Beans and a gas station.
Times change…

I remember a wonderful little candy shop, not too far from LL Bean, on the other side of the street. I haven’t been for at least 10 years.

Covid hit it hard. Quite a few empty store fronts now…

Maybe the Woodchuck actually wants to go to McDonald’s and is waiting for someone to drive him there. I would love to see the inside of that McDonald’s (will probably Google it) and wonder if anyone lives on the top floor. I can totally relate to Catnip toys and cats.

Maybe I should buy the chucks some Big Macs. They might leave my flowers alone then..

We just got a plastic Slinky for the bun, but she’s totally ignored it and instead the cats (especially Mango) are interested. I’m going to spray it with catnip spray and see if I can’t lure Cheddar in, too.

Catnip makes Lord Dudley drool.

I could happily go my whole life never seeing cat drool.

Cannon Beach, OR is similar. They have very strict ordinances that state all businesses must adhere to the “weathered wood” look. It’s actually quite charming. Psychologically, I bet a Big Mac from there tastes even better.
