As in boo…
I was not impressed.
.

.
I saw these weirdos in the fruit department of our local grocery and knew I had to try them.
.

.
Called pineberries, they’re really just a pale pink variant of strawberry but I figured they’d look nice on the fruit platter I make every weekend for healthy munching in the man cave.
.

.
Sorry to say I detected no hints of pineapple, pear or apricot.
.

.
They’re basically a harder anemic strawberry. So while they did add an interesting aesthetic… I doubt I’ll be buying them again.
.
They look like vastly underripe strawberries that some marketing department decided to rebrand to dupe the public.

I’ve seen those in the grocery and wondered about them.
Thanks for trying them, no need to wonder anymore.

Unless you’re looking for a different color on a pretty platter, I’d pass

Nature’s perfect. They look sickly, don’t they… Well I suppose it’s not an attempt to improve on nature, which is impossible, but rather make extra bucks. Scandalous, I tell you!

Strawberries are red. Anything else is a fake.

Not fake. But not overly appealing either.

I have to be desperate to purchase any strawberries in plastic no matter what shade. But the local growers have not had a good year so I haven’t had many this season.

Strawberries got flooded out here. Not many local, if at all.

No matter what the packaging, they don’t look appealing or appetizing at all.

They weren’t disgusting, just disappointing…

I’ve seen these in the store – but have never tried them. The pale color just doesn’t seem appealing. But mixed in with other fruits, I can see how they might add to an interesting look!

I’ve glanced in their direction at the produce market but never committed. Thanks for your review. 🙂
