One of these things is not like the other….

.

We have a plethora of birds who visit our feeders.

.

Flocks of starlings that devour suet and peanut nuggets in mere hours.

.

.

We have cardinals and gold finches and rose breasted grosbeaks, orioles and sparrows and mourning doves.

.

.

We also have a duck.

.

.

A female mallard to be more precise, who comes early morning and late afternoon.

.

.

I often wonder what the other birds think of her.

.

.

And if they wonder why her bath is on the ground.

😉

  1. Today we had a crow. One crow. I haven’t seen a crow anywhere near since the wildfire in 2019. I hope this 8s a sign they are returning to our area. But our starlings do not eat Peanut Pieces. I put them out 3 days ago, and they have barely been touched. The blue jays used to love them, but even they aren’t touching these. Maybe I got a bad bag.

    1. Our birds positively inhale suet and nuggets. I put new ones out at 6:00 am and they’re gone by 10:30. Not having any birds is just too sad to contemplate.
