You never know what summer in my state will bring. Last year it was hot and dry, this year we’ve had rain every other day. July was brutally hot and humid but most of August has been pleasant.
The other morning?
.

.
It was downright brisk, which I love… but by noon it was almost 85 degrees, which I don’t. They say if you don’t like the weather in Maine wait a minute. Or in this case 6 hours.
Have you ever had a Facebook memory make you cry? Mine did today when it reminded me we lost our beloved Huffington 11 years ago.
.

.
He was run over by a speeding car in front of our house and I swear I still haven’t gotten over it. I know you shouldn’t have favorite children or pets, but this little guy was special and is still very much missed.
.

.
Talk about overkill.
.

.
I like boats as much as the next girl, but this offends every New England frugal sensibility I have.

.
Random backyard woodchuck shots…

.
Because I can.

All the pets we’ve loved before… 😔

I still miss the animals we’ve had. 16 guests and 45 crew members. I hope that means none of the guests has to do anything. I’d hate for them to have to pitch in.

There’s not one thing about that boat that I’m attracted to.

David Geffen has been ranked the most polluting individual American and second most polluting individual in the world, largely due to his yachts.

Yet another reason I’m not on FB. I don’t want to be prodded into tears by seeing photos from the past. Especially when it’s a pet, dearly loved.
[Am on Threads now, btw. Are you there yet?]

I’m not, and don’t plan to be. I never liked Twitter…

Oh, it’s not like Twitter, at all– nor is it like FB which I can’t stand. Threads is friendly and small and pleasant. Would love to connect with you there if you change your mind.

Thanks, but I think it’s linked to Insta and I’m not on there either. To be honest I spend too much on this site… I don’t need another!

Aww Huffington was a cutie!! I know what you mean though, pets are part of the family and we never get over them. I have a new fur baby, not by choice but he’s here now and that’s what matters. He’s a ginger tabby, his name is Wayne Tiberius Kirk, Wayne for short, lol. He’s a juvenile and he’s so lovable I swear he’s been someone else’s cat but came to me two months ago and he’s been here ever since. Charlie isn’t too happy and hisses at him from time to time, but they are peaceful with each other for now. I’m glad I’m not on FB either, that kind of wealth offends if they don’t do their part and try and make the world a better place.

Charlie will need extra catnip before the interloper is accepted. And tuna. Don’t forget the tuna…

I miss my passed Fur-Children, too. And I, also, have a favorite now. Can’t help it. I think it’s because I saved her and the other two were inherited.

All of ours have been strays or rescues. I’ve loved every single one, but admittedly some steal an extra little piece of our hearts.

45 crew for 16 guests…. jeebus.
I can still be reduced to tears when thinking about Mocha, who died 21 years ago. Some just stay with you forever!
