Miscellaneous nonsense.

.

Has anyone tried this recipe?

.

.

I just bought the two ingredients and will report back if it’s truly magical.

Have you ever laughed at your spouse/significant other for being horticulturally challenged? I did the other day when we visited a friend and my husband asked if I had any of these bushy plants in our garden.

.

.

Uh, no… but it is legal here now.

🤣

.

Remember the photos I posted of that fantastic sunset we had before the recent hurricane? Take note of the giant ice cream cone trash can on the left and read the town’s FB page the day after the storm

.

.

We take our ice cream seriously up here.

A support pickle?

I just can’t…

  1. Interesting about that cake – what kind of frosting? Won’t cream cheese frosting be too heavy for an Angel Food cake? Hurry up and make the cake and let us know! (BTW -Cookies made from boxed cake mix are gross…) As for Mr. Pickles – my daughter either bought or was gifted with a huge plush Mr. Pickles when she was expecting her first child and it is now some kind of weird family tradition to pose the girls with Mr. Pickles for all special occasions. A Christmas family and Mr. Pickles photo is standard fare now. Of course there are infant and Mr. Pickles photos and the thing is bigger than the babies…One of these days I’m gonna ask her about it – it seems to be a thing amongst her friends.

      1. But isn’t that frosting in the photo? I can’t post a photo of Mr. Pickles because I do NOT post photos of my granddaughters, especially now that they are 4 and 6 – one is disgustingly gorgeous and the other is too cute for words. I found it on Amazon – Fiesta Toys – Mr. Pickles – it comes in a 30 inch version.

  2. Well I mean, the hubs didn’t stay at Woodstock so he obviously wouldn’t know what that “bushy” plant was, lol. That is a very unique trash can I must say, but it’s obviously beloved by everyone in your town. So thank you to the person that managed to save the top! I have heard but never tried that recipe, but now I’m tempted to try it! Support pickle? Uh…..no.

  3. i make a similar recipe by using a white or yellow cake mix and adding one can of diet sprite (nothing else) and baking it at 350* for 30 min (9×13 pan) and then frosting with cool whip. if you use a chocolate cake mix, you can add one can diet coke and frost with chocolate cool whip. we call it “diet” cake, and it’s surprisingly good for a low calorie version. i’m anxious to get the report on the angel food cake recipe!

      1. same! i’m totally on-board with adding the pineapple vs diet soda. and might try it with a yellow cake mix. but after you try first with angel food! 😉

  4. I just had that cake at a party a couple of days ago! And the baker had iced it with cool whip mixed with instant vanilla pudding! It was all delicious!!!
And I sampled pickled favoured beer at a farmers market yesterday. It was indeed “surprisingly refreshing” (their tag line). Who knew?!?!
