I’m thoroughly enjoying my Goodreads app. It’s a great way to catalog and keep track of what I’ve read and what I want to read in the future.
.

.
No more buying books only to realize it’s familiar after finishing the first chapter. A definite win in my book.
Oh look, I made a funny. 😉
Living with algorithms that constantly bombard me with pickles and ridiculous cat products, I was a little surprised to learn my Goodreads app doesn’t seem to know me that well.
.

.
Need help finishing it?
Uh, no. I completed and surpassed my goal quite a while back.
.

.
Okay, I drastically underestimated the amount I read in a year. Sue me, I’ve never counted before. Next year I shall be more on point.
But short reads? Please. Don’t recommend those skinny little overnight books.
I’m just getting interested 200 pages in.
.
Not mine either. I like a book that takes me on long journey. So long that I will miss it when it is over.

I got the same email and I also surpassed my goal ages ago 🤣. But I knew I would as I set it deliberately low. I have enough goals in my life that I don’t need the additional pressure of meeting a book one…also I don’t need any extra encouragement to put my nose into a book 😉.

I really had no idea how much I read a year, I knew it was a lot but I was off by a mile. And a half.
🤣

I’d forgotten about the Ruth Galloway series and now that you’ve reminded me I’m adding them to my TBR List. I like shorter books, like palate cleansers between courses.

I admit I do that as well. With Ruth Galloway, light quick reads after something heavy.

The year isn’t over yet…

Not sleeping, but yes to cooking…

167 is a Hell of a number; I could never reach it. As soon as I get comfortable the clock starts ticking and soon I will be asleep, usually about twenty pages along on a good day. Cathy, however, could read the owner’s manual to a refrigerator

I get positively twitchy if my unread pile falls below a dozen.

Wow – amazing. I tend to linger in a book. Unless it’s a mystery and then I have to know the ending ASAP.

I read a lot of mystery and suspense. But I’ve always been voracious…

I buy anthologies specifically so I have something when I want a short read.

I totally agree with you on the short book thing. The longer the better for me! My book club limits the page count to 300. Arghh.

I’ve often thought of joining a book club but there’s no way I could stretch a book for more than one meeting…

I should probably get that app. I just started a book recently before my sister told me I’d already read it. I said, “Ya know, the plot did seem vaguely familiar.” (headslap) The husband will probably find my car keys in the freezer next.

It won’t help you find your keys, but it’s fun.

I could use a few of those short reads (also got the recommendation from GR), as I’m still a few short of my goal and time is flying by.
My goal is 20, BTW. You’re a reading machine.

I am.
It’s an addiction…

I tend to read longer books as well! We have good problems. 😂

I beat my Reading Challenge so far. It was set at 60 and I am at 74. But my Grand Total since starting Goodreads last year is 138.

I just started this year and am enjoying it. The challenge part is okay, but I really like seeing all the new books and keeping track of what I’ve read.
