The Lorax was right!

.

Like all children, I loved the wild and wacky world of Dr. Seuss.

As an adult, I had a greater appreciation for the creative art and a better understanding of the underlying messages.

My favorite? The Lorax. A sad tale of environmental destruction…. he spoke for the trees but no one was listening. 😰

So imagine my surprise when I read this article the other day.

  1. I know jack-all about Dr. Seuss. I think my brother (7 years younger) had Dr. Seuss books, I never looked at them. Recently I used a Grinch filter on a video for my granddaughters and told them I didn’t really know anything about the Grinch – I was told they laughed that Nonna didn’t know about the grinch…Interesting that there are few fossilized remains of ancient trees or even that tree species became extinct…tho there was the ice age…

      1. 1966 I was 20 years old – long past the time when I watched cartoons – never cared much for them even when I was little – animation is just not my thing – except for Coraline…I did know sorta what the grinch looked like and that it has something to do with Christmas? And there was a movie? There are stock Dr. Seuss phrases that I probably know – green eggs and ham – isn’t that Dr. Seuss? Don’t know the story behind that or the elephant in a tree? Or something about a kid and a hat? Eh…

  2. Such a fascinating tree
    That umbrella canopy!
    All those pointy little leaves
    Surely rustled in the breeze
    After resting in a glade
I would welcome back their shade
    I’d be very much impressed
If they could hold a pterodactyl nest!
