.
We headed west recently… which is always a nice drive.
.

.
Destination?
.

.
An unassuming little Italian restaurant housed in an old shoe factory.
.

.
Lots of original exposed beams and sunlight.
.

.
And some seriously good mojitos. This one is blackberry.
.

.
I passed on the pickle.
🤢
.

.
Lunch for me was a tasty chicken carbonara tortellini. Their pasta is fresh and fabulous. Mojito #2? Mango.
.

.
Husband went with haddock piccata minus the capers, garlic butter linguini and maple glazed carrots. Scrumptious.
.

.
I meant to ask the bartender about this rather odd Nesquick placement but was too busy eating.
.

.
Raspberry cheesecake for the spouse.
.

.
And a rare bananas foster for me. I love this caramel and rum soaked treat but rarely find it in Maine. It was too apt to melt for a leftover box so I had to each the whole thing in one sitting.
I had to.
😉

The fortitude you have shown bearing up under the hardship of that great big helping of bananas Foster is an inspiration to us all. We have tortellini for dinner every few weeks or so. I’m going to try the chicken carbonara variation next time, I guess. A very appetizing post, thank you.

The Nesquick makes the place a family joint. Red wine for Mom, a sugary jolt for the kids. The food looks delicious.

It’s consistently good, which is saying something these days…

Laughing at the Nesquick; didn’t realize they still made that. Your dessert looks amazing.

It’s hard to beat warm caramel and rum.

When you have to sacrifice your waistline for dessert, it’s just something you gotta do…lol. Oh that pasta looks delish, and if you don’t mind me asking, why no capers on the husbands piccata? It’s not really piccata without the capers. Oh wait, this is “the” hubs were talking about, never mind…..lol.

Pickle juice has become a fad for bicyclists as a way to prevent leg cramps. My sister was way ahead of her time. Whenever we finished a jar of dill pickles, she would drink the brine. And she’s doing well at 79, so maybe it’s as good as cigars were for George Burns.

I don’t care if it’s good for me, I can’t do it.

I’m surprised you didn’t try the Maple Mojito. That sounds delicious.
