Random nonsense

.

I get these attaboys from WP every once in a while…

.

.

And it always amazes me I’ve managed to come up with that much drivel. Think how interesting this blog would be if I actually wrote about something worthwhile.

.

.

We saw the boot in downtown Freeport the other day but my husband turned a corner before I could get a picture.. so here’s a stock photo. Yes, it really exists. A giant mobile boot that travels around the country promoting L.L. Beans. Talk about the perfect job.

.

.

I’ll never take the time to make this, but I think you should and report back. It sounds lovely.

.

.

My husband is after me to buy a new car. But Ethel, my beloved loaded 2014 Subaru Forester, is just getting warmed up with 77,777 miles.

😊

Next up, the reason I will never have dementia.

.

.

I read a book every two days. So according to the author of this study my broken down body will retain a mind sharp enough to catalog the decline.

Yay.

I think….

.

.

Admit it, you’d eat those.

😉

  1. Can you make the deep fried marshmallows in an air fryer? We don’t deep fry anything anymore. (I’m afraid it would turn into marshnallow soup.)
The watermelon jam sounds goid, but that’s a long time to spend in the kitchen. No short cuts?

  2. Your blog fodder is something I look forward to every morning. I’m like you, I read more than the average person, so I’ll be right there with you recording the decay of my body while my mind is sharp enough to blaspheme the decline. I don’t like marshmallows at all so those don’t look good to me.

  3. I drive a 2010 Prius which the local Toyota dealer would love to take as a trade-in. I guess the older models have a better service record than the new ones. Oh yeah, I would eat those marshmallows! I like your drivel – keep on driveling.

  4. I don’t like marshmallows, but I will make an exception for the deep fried ones. I bet they are AWESOME on s’mores. I had no idea there was an L.L. Bean boot car. Not quite the absurdity level of the Wiennermobile, but right up there.

  5. I’m totally showing this to Cathy. She’s going to love watermelon honey but deep fried marshmallows will make her lose her mind. Then we have books. You two should talk. I don’t know your Goodreads username but hers is Catherine Nines (Fancy).

  6. Oh, and I love the low mileage creampuff car. I guess, anyway. I know the roads are more corrosive up yonder so I guess you wash it more often. My car is a 2018 Nissan Kicks (Dumb name, nice car) with 23,000 miles. I didn’t rack up enough miles last year to need an oil change or a tire rotation. Happy motoring.

    1. We tend to use my husband’s car every time we go somewhere together so my low miles are just from shopping and running errands. And my beloved Ethel is always garaged.

  7. Dear Rivergirl,

“I read a book every two days. So according to the author of this study my broken down body will retain a mind sharp enough to catalog the decline.”

What kinds of books do you most enjoy? Who are some of your favorite authors?

    Bookishly,

  8. I had no idea there was a “Bean Boot,” and if I were to see it in person it might rival the time I saw the Oscar Mayer “Weinermobile.” Is there anything that hasn’t been deep fried by now…?
