.
Remember my father’s old WWII painting I wanted to reframe?
.

.
It took a while, but she’s finally been updated.
.

.
And while the wood was a good bit darker than the sample I was shown…
.

.
It has a nice gold accent to make the colors pop.
.

.
And our bedroom furniture is dark so it will be fine.
Though I really do need to go curtain shopping…
🥴
.
I like that. I also like that there’s hope for the things I want to get framed.

It’s sooo expensive these days. The frames I really wanted were $800-$1,000, I settled for this and it was still $460.

So happy you saved it and placed it where you will enjoy it each day.

The framers told me it was in relatively good shape but could do with a cleaning and some restoration. For another $700+…

Wow that is crazy! YouTube cleaning an Oil Painting even a light cleaning by you will bring it to life.

I’d be afraid of ruining it. I’ve lived with it dirty for this long…

That’s right 🙂 I always pay attention to art on the road show and what they suggest.

It’s perfect! The frame does the paint justice.

I think the wood is too dark, the sample piece was lighter with visible grain… but what’s done is done.
It’s better.

Were all of those 80 years odd?

I can’t speak for a lot of them being younger, but some were … yes.

Ooh, a four-poster bed! Perfect for handcuffs.
If you wanted to play cops ‘n robbers or something.
