She’s still here.

And claiming the back deck for her own.

.
Surveying her domain and deciding what she can chew through next.

Everyone thinks she’s cute and harmless…

But I know better.

I must say, she does look like she’s pondering some mischief, staring into the foggy vastness like that.

Ok, here is how we got rid of our squirrels (humanely) from nibbling at our bird feeder. I bet it will work for your back porch: Sprinkle some bird seed on the back porch. The squirrel will not be able to resist. BUT, shake the bird seed and coat it with Red Pepper (we use Cayenne). If the birds eat it, it has no effect. If the squirrel eats it, watch the Keystone Cops routine begin! They will dart away and run in circles! Eventually the sensation wears off and they are fine, but they will be very wary about revisiting the site of their own little Armageddon.

I’ve tried red pepper, she walks right through it. And it’s not a birdseed issue, it’s the fact that she chews through walls and builds nests in our house eaves and our barn.

At this point I’m just hoping she kicks the bucket soon, no thanks to Hunter. Are you positive it’s the same squirrel? Is could be one of her offspring. Shes just plain annoying……I know you would agree.

They live 3-5 years so this could be an elderly her… or one her demon spawn.
Hard to tell, they’re both destructive.

Apparently, apologies to Carl Sandburg, the fog moves on little squirrel feet.

i keep the squirrels out of my flower beds and off my patio by putting a few drops of cinnamon essential oil on cottonballs and scattering them around the garden. at first, i had to replace the cottonballs every few days, but now i only do it about 1x per month. the squirrels are still in the yard, but not in my flowers or on the patio. maybe it would work for you too?

I’ve tried peppermint oil and red pepper but never cinnamon.

The open area, greenery and the fog looks so wonderful; a warm tea would be awesome!
