.
Day 6 of my Covid journey dawned with me still feeling crappy… congested, coughing and bone tired,… but I’m less foggy and brain addled so that’s progress. I even managed to feed the cat something more appropriate than Raisin Bran.
I’m gaining.
Not that there’s any rest for the weary when my husband is three days behind me on the plague meter and still in the miserable thick of it.
Having Covid is bad enough, but having to nurse someone else who has Covid while you’re still feeling its effects?
Hell.
And to top it all off, I woke up this morning with absolutely no sense of smell or taste. Nothing. Nada. This worries me, because my girlfriend lost hers for over two years and said it was truly awful.
😫
.
Holding a good thought of your continued improvement.

I know this may not be any consolation but no one persons symptoms are alike. Since I’ve had COVID back in July, all three of my boys have had it, two of them twice. Because those two lived together so I suppose it was inevitable. But, one lost his sense of taste and smell for about a week after, and the other for about a two weeks. You may get your taste and smell back sooner than you think. Hang in there River 😉

I can empathize with the double illness – glad the brain fog is lifting – so sorry about the loss of taste & smell – that must be so weird. Let’s hope that passes quickly.

It certainly makes cooking and eating less fun…

I lost mine for at least a month. Really miserable. I was so excited when I could smell skunk on the dog again.

You know it’s bad when you’re happy to smell that!

Ugh. That sucks. I’m so sorry.
On the bright side, at least you might not turn up your nose at Spam anymore.

Well, look on the bright side, with no sense of smell, food can stay in the frig longer. Uh, maybe not. 🙂

It could…
But probably shouldn’t.

I never lost smell or taste but did have a metallic taste for a few days. Not being able to smell or taste makes eating more of a chore; I hope you get it back soon.

Oh, friend, I feel you on this. I lost my taste and smell too. Sending you so much love—though it doesn’t feel like enough. I truly hope you both come out of the thick of it soon.

How long did you lose yours?

Well… my smell is still not very strong, but my taste is back. I think it took a couple of months for my taste to fully return. My mom still can’t smell. We all got COVID in July.

Sadly, I feel you. After four days of feeling various ways under the weather, I took the test this morning. And then a second one. Christmas with COVID! Yay!

Fees are based on levels of misery.
The more awful you feel, the less you pay.

Last night, I learned that I’ve lost nearly my entire sense of smell. I already suspected most of taste was gone. Now I’m wondering whether I git onky that part of covod, or if something else is going on.
I know several people who had covid-related sensory loss but it returned with a couple days. I hope I can add you to that list!

Thanks. So do I.
My friend had to retrain her senses, slowly over two years. It came back, but not at full strength.

Ughhhh. I hope you’re both feeling better by now and that you DO get your sense of smell back. I never lost mine, but I can imagine it’s not a good thing to lose.
