And speaking of beer, we dropped into a new small batch brewery to try a flight recently.

The beer was quite good. Traditional German style Pilsners, dunkels and gose. Veteran owned and run, so you know my husband found someone to talk to… which made us late for our dinner reservation.

Our first chuck of the season lost a little fur during hibernation.

I was a bit worried…

But it seems to be growing back nicely.

I thought of you when I read that 2 pickle “enhanced” drinks will be at the LA County Fair in May. One was pickle Dr Pepper. I forgot the other – but it will be shown a billion more times right before the fair opens.

My husband would buy the G.S. Deliteful Cookie Stout in a heartbeat. Sounds awful to me though.

This is worrisome on many levels. First because you will get many readers and commenters despite labeling this “miscellaneous drivel”. Second, because there is something definitely weird about combining Girl Scouts and beer. And third because it is entirely believable that JD Vance eats pets.
A local brewery had a barleywine festival last week. With 20-some barleywines (several of their own, including one aged 10 years, and several more from guest brewers) it required judicious choosing for a flight.

I admit Girl Scouts and beer is an odd pairing, but you can color me intrigued. The little cherubs don’t sell door to door anymore…. so I have to get my cookies where I can.

Once marijuana was legalized in California, I was particularly impressed with the Girl Scouts who sold cookies right next to the dispensaries. Can’t really complain about beer horning in on that action.

I can still remember having a freezer full of unsold Thin Mints back when my daughter was in GS. Nowadays I just give them the money and tell them to donate the cookies to a food bank! Some memories never die. I’m wouldn’t try a Dill Dough’s anything!

I used to buy the thin mints but the Keebler Grasshoppers taste exactly the same for less money. Now I crave the Lemonades.

I’m not a beer drinker, but I wonder when if they’ll ever make a Girl Scout beer around Thin Mints, or what our friend calls “the Cadillac of cookies.” I’m pretty sure those are the Scouts’ best seller.
