Take a look at this image and tell me if you see rectangles or circles.
.

.
Like that extremely annoying blue or gold dress, I can’t understand how anyone could possibly see circles here, but apparently they do.
.

.
This explanation seems bizarre to me.
I don’t live near teepees, but I can still distinguish one from an igloo.
The human brain is a strange piece of work.
🥴

Yes, rectangles there. I quite aggressively thought, “Show me circles! There are no circles!”
Interesting, because Namibia happens to be the #1 African country the Husband and I want to visit. If we get there, I will check and report back. 😉
W.E.I.R.D. Love it. Despite the “D” being questionable right now, I wouldn’t hesitate to describe our country as “weird” at the moment.

I couldn’t see circles. But then I couldn’t see gold on that stupid blue dress either…
But weird is certainly appropriate these days.

No circles, but I wouldn’t want to see this in the mirror while backing into the driveway.

It does look like a psychotic garage door now that you mention it….

I see George Washington trying to kill a giant mosquito; but, I never did well at Rorschach tests.

Was it in a cherry tree? I heard that didn’t go well…

It’s definitely rectangles, and it’s quite like that’s blue / gold black dress thing. The human brain is weird because how anyone sees circles is beyond me. Even if those people live in a country with little to no squares/rectangles. But I guess they see what they’ve learned to see, just like us.

Brains are weird.
No doubt about it…

The whole thing about people seeing circles and why Westerners don’t is triggering my BS meter.
And all I see, after a lot of staring, is an eagle with a fish in its talons, rising up above a lake.
But what do I know? I’m just a weird-o.

Namibia the country has an extremely weird shape that has a whole bunch of straight lines. Or maybe they see their country on a map as round… who knows?

Yes. I see both.

You see circles…
That’s fascinating.

What a dumb explanation, because I live in the city in America.

how do I see circles if I slightly cross my eyes circles, i sent you an email that might help you see the circle easier

I see rectangles, but the shape also looks like the representation of circles (in numbers like 8) on digital clocks. Interesting explanation.

Rectangles. I don’t get the circles thing at all!

Neither do I honestly…

It makes zero sense no matter where you live.

Whoa! The circles just appeared! I saw this last week and saw only straight lines. Now I see the circles. They are between each pair of rectangles. Once you see them you can see both circles and rectangles simultaneously. You don’t even have to switch back and forth.

WAIT A MINUTE, now I see them too! Thanks for pointing that out.

If I stare at a circle and unfocus my eyes, the rectangles disappear and the circles jump out. There are straight lines between them, but no rectangles..

Maybe you can….

Well, since I’m WEIRD, I absolutely see rectangles. How the heck can you see circles here…this is a head scratcher!

I see Rectangles although if you want to get nitpicky the dark rectangle in the middle (3rd row, I think) might have circular corners.

The day I spot a circle in there is the day I’ll declare watermelon delicious.

But can I trust you to admit it when you do?

Of course! Early in my blog, I wrote about despising cauliflower and Brussel’s sprouts. Eventually I came around to both and admitted as much. If the same ever happens with watermelon (doubtful), I’ll be happy to eat crow.
Actually, I’d be happier eating crow than watermelon…

I like sprouts, cauliflower I can take or leave.
But watermelon… ahh.
Good stuff!
I bet even the crows like it.

Well, social media is trying to redefine biology; may as well redefine geometry while they are at it. All I see is Grandma’s kitchen wallpaper.
