.
I love to read. And since I do a lot of it, I love a library book sale.
.

.
Two dollars for hardcovers, $1, for paperbacks makes me feel less guilty that these two stacks will be finished in a month and a half.
.

.
This martini is for Mark. Made with fresh watermelon puree it was utterly delightful.
Really!
.

.
This makes me even more glad I can’t stand the stuff.
.

.
Remember I spoke of this a while back?
A third less tourists is not good for Maine’s economy.
.

.
The husband, examining a wagon wheel fence he saw at a yard sale. Needless to say he was disappointed the wheels were not for sale.
.

.
This is Pia.
I’m cat sitting for a neighbor this week… and when Pia wants to be petted?
.

.
You’d better pet.
.

.
Best advice I’ve heard in a while.
😉
.
Too bad about the wagon wheels. Pia does look like he wants some attention.

Next time you are in the area of say Tuckaway Tavern stop at the library in Epping they have a huge room of donated books, not the musty type, you can fill a bag or take home what you want for a donation. No set price. They organize constantly and there are gardens to walk through or sit in. Where in Maine are you? I did 30+ years trucking in and out of the whole state of Maine.

Really? That sounds amazing… I’ll definitely check it out.
We’re in the mid coast region. About an hour north of Portland.

Below Augusta, a little west of Wiscasset.

Tie that candy corn to the stake or pitch it into the bonfire 🤣

Oh my goodness! That’s a lot of books. Best I can do is about 6 books a month. You make me feel like a slacker.

I’m a voracious reader. Which gets very expensive…

Great book haul! I used to read a lot more. Either the books got worse, or I got pickier. California tourism declined about 9% since Trump took office. Great outlook for the Olympics.

No, she’s a love bug… and very sweet. When she’s getting the attention she thinks she deserves.

The black cat is asking for something. Or you will be blamed, and it might have nothing to do with you. You are a reader! I am enjoying reading Thomas Fincham series of Lee Calloway, detective. Self published. Very clear and easy to connect the dots with a twist. I read him on my kindle. Kindle Unlimited.

I never got hooked on ereaders. I’m a tactile person and love the feel of turning actual pages. Though I can appreciate the convenience..

I love kindle unlimited as it gives me easy access. We have lots of hardback and right now trying to pare down. While our driveway was being repaired, I took out 2 hardback books from the library and finished one but the other one is like 500 pages from a Swedish author and I just can’t seem to crack the code and get started. I do like my kindle!

And you probably don’t have 30 bags full of books waiting to be donated in your basement either. I get it.

Oh, I don’t know about that. Mike has shelves of series of books by authors. We have many bookcases. We donate them to the VA library and when I can, I sneak out a few to readers I know will appreciate them. I am a library reader and kindle.

The candy corn Trump is delightful. The martini looks divine. I’m smiling.

Is Pia at your place or her own and her owner also loves books?
That book stack looks fun. I have been getting books from Senior Centers to save money.

I visit their house daily for kitty chores, photos were taken there.
I love finding cheap books. Goodwill used to be a good source but they’re crazy expensive for used these days. I’m not paying $10 plus to read a donated book.

Meaw to that cutie from me please. ……..Your stack of books look so cool. I am going for digital copies these days but I would love to have the physical books like yours. The feel of them on hand has its own charm.

As much as I love my tech, I’m old school when it comes to reading. Have to hold an actual book and turn physical pages.

Based on that picture, I feel obliged to pet Pia as well. N-i-c-e kitty. I might have bought one of those wheels…🛞

Trust me, I’d much rather listen to Blondie’s “Rapture” than read the news about some supposed Rapture.
I’m sure the martini was delightful, but all the same, I’m a-gonna pass. I do love me some candy corn though. Trust me, I will unsee that.
I hope you’ll let us know your thoughts on “American Dirt” when you’re finished!

It seems like there was a lot of buzz about that book when it was first published. I shall report back.
And the only thing I could find appetizing about candy corn is the thought of biting off Trump’s head again and again.

It was quite controversial, but I liked it a lot.
