No one can use it, but here it is all the same.

Can’t say I’d find that attractive, but who am I to judge?

If you’ve watched The Last Of Us? You’ll know this does not bode well for the future of the human race.

Being a cat lover, I literally snorted at this.

No!
Not the cheese…

Never was a Guinea pig so aptly named.

That was one busy little guy.

And Randy did it without bothering to grow teeth on his forehead. As for the difference between dogs and cats affect on longevity – no surprise at all.

Now I’m curious what effect pet guinea pigs have on dementia.

Having a dog generally means walking a dog, which leads to a less sedentary lifestyle and more human interaction. Both of which improve your overall health, especially as you age. But what’s a longer life without cats?!

Agreed. We had two catless years and while traveling was a lot easier, I wasn’t happy.

I’m only alive because I have cats. If I get dementia, I hope I’m at least happy!

I am team Dog, so for dementia thing, I would say, Yay!
Not sure how many pups my late dog fathered. He never told me.
All the world needs now is robots growing into mushrooms and cheese, and luring rats and guinea pigs with sex-tooth to father the next generation of robots…Woof!!!

Kudos to Randy – well played. I trust the study showing dogs > cats was funded by the National Dog Association. Take your hands off my cheese, people!

I can see the difference between cats and dogs having owned both. Dogs are very needy and demand attention. They can’t survive on their own without you engaging with them. Cats on the other hand…

Agreed. They’re very different beasties.

I have a feeling a cat might not help with dementia because with their stand offness one would be wondering, “Did that really happen?” whereas with a dog, they are all over you and you remember!

And cats can ignore you for days, dogs require constant attention.

What would Richard Gere have to say about all this?

I always feel the biggest effect having a cat has on a person is on his self-esteem, as she looks down upon him from her throne on the top of the cupboard and declines to come down for anything except a meal 🤣

I don’t believe the Dog Study. I think having any animal can improve dementia. And, Go Randy!
